Welcome to Hedge-End Karate!
Welcome to the Hedge End School of Goju-Ryu Karate. We are based in Hedge End near Southampton in Hampshire, the HSGK is open to both junior and adult students. It doesn't matter if you are fit or unfit old or young over weight or under weight we can teach you traditional karate to the highest standards.
The HSGK is a very friendly club. We welcome everyone from the complete novice to those who want to get back into karate after a break from training.
HSGK is a well established karate school head instructor Alan Woodhouse has many years experience teaching children and adults the art of karate.
Karate trains the mind and the body, it builds muscular strength, agility co-ordination and endurance. Karate is an Oriental martial art and as such is influenced by oriental philosophy which stresses training to become a better person is as important as the physical training.
This philosophy also stresses that there is no first attack in karate. Children especially, are taught this and quickly begin to benefit what traditional karate has to offer.
We study not merely karate but karate-Do. “Do” is the Japanese term for “way of life”
The HSGK is a full member of the English Goju-Ryu Karate Association.
